You sometimes wonder if things could go more wrong...
The day started with Jan spraying his ancle, leaving him pretty much incapable of doing anything involving walking or standing. Later in the day it got a bit better, but the ancle wasn't the only thing causing trouble this night. On the way to the Oostelijke Handelskade the engine broke down, leaving the Internos slowly on drift. The Internos nearly did a Titanic on the rocks, but luckily this ship actually didn't sink. But the people in the boat at the time were wondering whether is was time to pack their bags!
To make things worse, Barbara suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her face and hands when she got hit by steam from the engine, and they had to rush her off to hospital. And when accidents happen on boats, the law states their should be made written statement by the police. This is the reson why Internos ended up being escorted to the Oostelijke Handelskade. They left the Internos there, but unfortunately they decided to came back four hours later and stop the party. Normal police would not have been able to do this, but these guys were water police. Boat law is a lot strickter. So even though a boat that size doesn't need a special licence to hold a party that size, the police can still stop it if they feel the need to.
So one disappointment and disaster after another... But there were quite a few people who decided to hang around for some more time and it ended in being quite gezellig, as concellation.
Barbara is doing ok, considering conditions. All wounds should heal nicely, but it's going to take time and rest (and pain killers) and she should be fine. Jan's ancle needs rest too, but seems to be having a hard time to get it (Jan doesn't like to sit still). Best wishes to both of them!
